TOBO-00355 Bamboo containers Padang 1930-1950 Striking on these containers are the detailed patterns, carved in the bamboo. These ornaments are typical of the Minangkabau-people in the Padang-area (West-Sumatra). This particular pattern is described by F A Wagner in her book "Sierkunst in Indonesie" on page 87. These containers were probably used to hold sirih. Rare. Very good quality Height 16 cm One ring of one of the containers is missing.
